Wroclaw City Walk

Wroclaw City Hall On the Wroclaw City Walk we will show you the twin-towered St. John the Baptist Cathedral, which is one of the most remarkable in Europe. To see the lovely view from the 91m-high tower, you don’t need strong legs, there is a lift for you. After you come down our guide will takes you through Cathedral Bridge to the Sand Island, where the Church of Our Lady on the Sand is placed. This lofty 14th century building houses mechanised “Nativity scene”, which contains of around 1000 figures. Then you go through the Sand Bridge to the University Quarter. A few steps further you will see the Old Shambles, which was a butchers' street and now houses art galleries and some bronze statues of various farm animals. Keep an eye out on the windows of the Old Jail (now a tavern) one of the Wroclaw’s gnomes is perching over there. Further on the way to The Market Square you will see two charming houses called Hansel and Gretel.

Next to them there is Church of St. Elizabeth, which contains a superb Gothic interior. Next point is The Market Square, where you can see Town Hall with a unique ribbed top and Renaissance bay windows on the south wall. The complex of Town Hall is so huge that it incorporates three internal streets, City Dwelles’ Art Museum, popular pub-restaurant called Piwnica Świdnicka.
