The first stop on the trip is the Imperial Castle in Poznan. The name of this structure is misleading, as the building is a palace rather than a castle, however the architecture of this neo - Romanesque, multipartite structure harks back to medieval castles. It was built in 1910 and officially opened by Emperor Wilhelm II.
From Poznan we will take you to Swarzedz for a short adventure with bees. Here you can see the Beekeeping open air museum. It houses a unique in Europe collection of beehives; you can familiarize yourself with the history of beekeeping in Poland. A few objects are still bees homes. Later our guide will take you to Kornik Castle, built in XV century. You can wander through its fully furnished and decorated XIX century interiors. The collection includes some intriguing pieces like elaborately designed furniture, medieval weaponry and centuries-old books. If you are interested you may visit Kornik Arboretum as well.
The last stop is Rogalin Palace. The building was under construction for almost fifty years. In the meantime the style of the palace changed many times: from a baroque at the beginning to the classical style nowadays. If you are eager you might see valuable paintings, porcelain, old furniture and clocks inside. On the west side of the palace there is the magnificent, XVIII century, Rogalin Park. It is famous for ancient oak trees. There are almost thousand of them; the oldest oaks are about 600 years old. After a nice walk our guide will take you back to Poznan.
